MachOne Music Studios is honoured to have been involved in the following projects:

JD Robertson’s own full-length CD GONNABEALRITE (2006)
Our Songs Are Our Prayers - Minwashin Lodge fundraiser CD

Thirty four women came through the studio over two weekends to record sixteen songs that had been handed down through the generations of aboriginal song writers. The goal was to create either a great hall sound or an outdoors atmosphere, which was where these songs were originally performed.

It was a great experience for us to be a part of this project and an honour for John to be chosen as the engineer and producer. These women were mostly all amateurs and they did an amazing job through the recording process.

Royal Ottawa Hospital's Volunteer Association Comedy Night Fundraiser

It was an honour to be chosen to help with the 3rd Annual Royal Ottawa Hospital's Volunteer Association Comedy Night Fundraiser. This event raises funds for the work volunteers do in the area of mental health at the hospital. Comedians from across the country come and participate in this show, held every year at Ottawa's Centrepoint Theater.

This year, they wanted a MUSICAL INTRO plus slide show to introduce the lineup for the show. They requested a snappy, up tempo tune to get the show off to a high energy start. John played all the parts on this recording, except for the lead guitar, which was performed by Geoff Johnson.

Mach One Music looks forward to being a part of this again next year and has been requested to do just that!

The Aboriginal Women’s Support Centre in Ottawa had the opportunity to work with MachOne Music Studios on a special project. John Robertson’s patience and kindness was helpful in making the women feel safe and at ease to sing their very best. John’s skills as a singer, songwriter and producer helped our project tremendously. John demonstrated professionalism, expertise and guidance throughout the whole process.

The outcome was a beautiful piece of work. John continues to give us some expert advice on how to produce and market our CD. The Aboriginal Community was honoured to work with him. We couldn’t have picked a better team to host the making of our CD.

I highly recommend Mach One Music Studios to organizations, government and community people. They certainly helped the Aboriginal women find their voice.

Minwashin Lodge

I had produced an educational video which included some wacky comedy and wanted a theme tune that exactly captured the balance between the serious message and the lighter moments, not exactly a straightforward assignment.

From the outset I found John to be very responsive to my ideas. He approached the task in a highly professional manner, taking the time to understand the project's message, and came up with a number of creative options. He didn't just leave me to choose. He set up his studio to sync the movie and the sound, and we watched the impact together. His composition exceeded my expectations in terms of the quality and speed of delivery. We also had a lot of fun and became firm friends in the process.

I will definitely turn to MachOne Music for my next project.
